This little Piggy.....

Being sick at home with an twelve year old boy shouldnt be fun I know but as we're both sick it's kind of disintegrated into a medley of sweat snot and snivelling.
Nothing on telly so we decide to watch 'Marley and Me' which a neighbour very kindly (ahem) has lent to us. We pushed the dvd about with complete disdain but succumbed after too much Kerry Anne and her snugglie infomercials.
Dont know who Kerry Anne is?

Then you're lucky.

I'd write that in caps but I've got a headache.
By the end of the movie Mil and I are heave-sobbing into snotty tissues wrapped around each other, two sentimental fools with snuggie substitutes.
I cant take any more of this pig flu, there's nothing on the telly.

Peter Roseman

If I had my space and time travelling machine ready that Milan's STILL working on (hurry up kid! how many more resources can we throw at that?), I'd have gone to the opening night of Peter Rosemans exhibition and snapped up the painting on the right (because I would also be an incredibly rich and benevolent, time and space traveller).
When I saw Karens photo of the gallery though, my heart broke just a little bit and I had to retire back to bed with extreme homesickness. Damp London mid morning in the summer with wooden floorboards and the smell of home... wet tarmac, coffee and the underlying odour of fear, not everyones idea of heaven I grant you, but tell you what, it rains way more in Sydney.
Bring a little joy to your heart and go see these paintings.

So even though flu is a slight incapacitator three days in bed and I'm at the end of my tether so I had to go to work.
40 crap misprints and snotty slug trails up my sleeves, I wished I hadn't bothered but then this came up.
I looooooove this screenprint, it might make it into the exhibition.

Not man flu, PROPER flu, possibly even with pig noises.

Apparently there's a mob of kangaroos in London and if you find four then you're in with a chance of winning a holiday to South Australia. I cant see that it would be that hard to find four kangaroos in London, especially as they've been heavy handed with the hints?

To quote from the competition page....

"Twenty of our most adventurous roos have escaped from beautiful Kangaroo Island here in South Australia and are on the loose around London. We need your help to round them up so that we can take them back to their mates.

We know that they are scattered around central London, from Kensington to Tower Bridge,.....tell us where 4 of our roos are and we’ll enter you into a competition to win a group holiday for 4 people to South Australia.....good luck!"

Jamie Watson

It almost tempts me to learn to surf.
Artwork by the incredibly lovely Jamie who has managed to talk me through my sea-swimming fear and got me in the ocean a couple of times before the temperature dropped to North Sea comparable.
Jamie, I cant thank you enough, plus, I am in love with this board and your art work, they look beautiful together.

FBI Radio

Milan was asked if FBI radio could use his Dockside night image for the cover of FBI radios free mini mag which is published by Avant card where you can send a free e-card of the image.
Pick up the magazine and some free postcards at the Opera house, any of the Art galleries and most bars clubs and cinemas in Sydney.

June Mailing List Prize

Screenprint on board 20cm x 29cm aprox
Randomiser will pick someone off my mailing list out of the 'virtual hat' somewhere around the beginning of July.
I'll be sending out this months stimulating read tomorrow morning and it'll have a whopper of a 'studio clearance' of a code.

If I was in London, I'd be doing the last ever Great Western Open Studios, this is because it's moving to a new building about 500 yards from the old one. There will be incredible bargains to be had, and some extremely beautiful things to fiddle with. There will also, no doubt, be Pimms and lemonade.
So if you're in the area go and have a look see and grab yourself some bargains.

On Saturday I spent most of the morning chasing a vivid rainbow.
I finally found it when I had a camera at Callan park. You can hardly see the rainbow, but there's a couple of guys with nice legs to focus your attention instead.

London Calling

Two new prints from master Moofus, St Pauls Cathedral and Portobello Road.
Available here in US$ or here in AU$

He's looking forward to our visit home methinks.....

he's also super excited about a trip to NY next year writing lists of places he wants to see. So far its been extended from a 3 day trip to two weeks, now he's asking if Alistair can get a transfer with work.
I guess its always an option, but it would be in Dallas. I've only ever been to Dallas airport.

exhibition stuff

My Auntie and my Nanna looking rather cross.
These were actually their happy faces.

Stan thinks I'm special

Special enough to entrust with his dinner which overnighted in my handbag....... in the bedroom.
I've never had a dog quite as generous as he.
Yes I slept next to a meaty bone and didnt notice as is my wont, whats worse is that I even took it to the post office with me this morning.
In my defence I was distracted as we've all got the snots.
