Back in the day....

My parents thought this programme was hysterical when we were growing up.
I still remember them both saying in unison
"Mr Benn doesnt like parties much. But he does like dressing up."
Ahh bless.

Achey arms and googley eyeballs

Regretsy, not for the faint hearted

Via the great Michigirl newsletter I found regretsy last week which is hysterical. Its hard to pick something to post especially as some of the things are not safe for work (Personalised vagina pendant anyone? I've got my friend Adam to thank for that link, just email him pics of your fanny and he'll make you something similar).

Streaky Pork Down

Via the brilliant Leah, who's not only always good for a giggle but is also a great painter.
There's a Bad Translations pool on flickr that's pretty good too.

Week 23 - Water Restrictions

photograph overprinted with silkscreen week 23 with Anna (enzo & lulu). and here.

An ongoing personal project with Anna whom provides the photographs and then I overprint it with silkscreen. We aimed to do one a week.
I am 20 behind.
Suddenly that sounds ridiculous, I should have done 43 by now, making 9 left to do by the end of the year. There cant be only 9 weeks left can there already?! Where has this year gone?

Have you lost a quail?

I've rubbed out the contact details, but obviously, if you've lost a quail, I can pass the phone number on to you.
Could there be a connection?

Me bug meh.

Was sent this by a friend this morning after I had a bit of a rant about the word 'awesome' amongst others, and realised I'd turned into my great-grandmother who was very particular.

My Black Dog

I finally got around to finishing these last week, even though I was intending to put them into my long gone exhibition. One of those 'Eureka! I'm on top of everything' moments.
Then I decided to clear out my plan chests (it'll only take half an hour, HA! sure it will) instead of tackling the jobs I've got on and discovered a whole bundle of unfinished work in the deep dark depths ready to pop, but just not quite.
Another 8 things on my THINGS list.

Edition of 5 (3 left) 21cm x 42cm. Here.

Everything we'll never be.

Shirley

This is for Kate G. and Maria.
Kate, I think you and Adam should do this at karaoke and Maria, you're nobody 'till you were on Morecambe and Wise.

Miss Macleod

I was lucky enough to entertain the lovely Kat Macleod and her very handsome, husband to be, Cam Teys last month so that she could screenprint some of her beautiful artwork for her show which will be starting next week at the Lamington Drive gallery entitle 'Slight Inclusions'.
There are 4 very large A1 screenprints in a very small run of only 10 each plus a selection of original illustrations, which are very lovely, I have my eye on one or two. The catalogue will go online next week and will no doubt be snapped up pronto before the exhibition opens..... so be quick!

Tarantula

When I was ten I won a poetry competition with WHSmith and as a reward my dad gave me this book. Odd really in retrospect, but he said I'd appreciate it when I was older, especially as he has a 1966 bootleg copy knocking about. And I do, this is definitely one of my favourite books, because I haven't got a clue whats going on.
So, if you like titles such as ' I Found the Piano Player Very Cross Eyed But Extremely Solid' and prose such as......

dear tom
have i ever told you that i
think your name ought to be
bill. it doesnt really matter
of course, but you know, i like
to be comfortable around people.
how is margy? or martha? or
whatever the hell her name is?
listen: when you arrive & you
hear somebody yelling "willy" it'll
be me that's who... so c'mon. there'll
be a car & a party waiting. it'll
be very easy to single me out, so
dont say you didnt know i was there
                                                     gratefully
                                                     truman peyote

then this too, book is for you.
